Best Inventions of 2017 and 2018 That’s Really Amazing

The five best inventions of 2018 are in this article which the peoples love most. Yes, 2017\’s biggest tech story was probably about the ways in which social media forced us to rehash old culture wars and question. Who was guiding our political discourse? Rather than seeing technology facilitate greater communication, economic opportunity, and leisure. It seemed that it was exacerbating our differences, concentrating wealth, and threatening all livelihoods. But there was some good stuff too!

Technology Lovers

For anyone who loves technology, it was kind of a downer. While we shouldn’t turn away from the challenges that the information age keeps springing on us, it’s understandable to long for a few things that just make you say, “that’s neat!” as best invention of 2018. It’s easy to hope to see something that dazzles you or is so ambitious that in a decade it might just be incredible. For me, there were a lot of things I saw this year that I thought fit that bill. Some of them, like the sudden mainstream fascination with block chain, caused me to feel more dread than hope. But
others either made me smile, grabbed my imagination, or just showed a ton of promise.

Best Inventions of 2018

3D Metal Printing

While 3-D printing has been around for decades, it has remained largely in the domain of hobbyists and designers producing one-off prototypes. And printing objects with anything other than plastics, in particular, metal has been expensive and painfully slow. And it is the best invention of 2018.

Now, however, it’s becoming cheap and easy enough to be a potentially practical way of manufacturing parts. If widely adopted, it could change the way we mass-produce many products. In the short term, manufacturers wouldn’t need to maintain large inventories. They could simply print an object, such as a replacement part for an aging car, whenever someone needs it. In the longer term, large factories that mass-produce a limited range of parts might be replaced by smaller ones that make a wider variety, adapting to customers’ changing needs.

The technology can create lighter, stronger parts, and complex shapes that aren’t possible with conventional metal fabrication methods. It can also provide more precise control of the microstructure of metals. In 2017, researchers from the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory announced they had developed a 3-D-printing method for creating stainless-steel parts twice.  Also in 2017, a 3-D-printing company Mark forged, a small startup based outside Boston, released the first 3-D metal printer for under $100,000.

Honda 3E Robotics Concept

During the best invention of 2018, Honda’s new concept robots may be just as cute as they are useful. The company showcased its 3E Robotics concept, which includes several robot companions all designed to serve different functions.

Robot 3E-A18 is Honda’s social empathy robot. The company says it’s meant to represent the idea that robots can support people by providing a sense of compassion and understanding. In a demo, the roving robot’s glowing face frequently changed its expression as it greeted the crowd. Honda’s 3E-B18, comparatively, is a robotic chair concept, while 3E-C18 includes cargo space for transporting materials.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon and Yoga

Lenovo’s long-running ThinkPad lineup is getting some worthwhile new additions in best inventions of 2018. Both new ThinkPad computers include a dazzling HDR display, a built-in physical webcam cover. And far-field microphones for speaking to Amazon’s Alexa and Microsoft’s Cortana. The two laptops also run on Intel’s newest eighth-generation processors.

The most impressive feature by far is the laptops’ HDR support, which makes colors look bold and vivid. Arguably adding much more noticeable improvements than 4K resolution.

Computational Photography

Smartphones are getting thinner, but the images they can capture only get better. The software is one of the biggest reasons for that. Apple and Samsung are using software (and dual lenses). To create excellent depth of field effects on their phones, and even big deal directors like Steven Soderbergh and Michel Gondry decided to start shooting with the iPhone this year.

Manufacturing

Meanwhile, in best inventions of 2018 Google’s Pixel 2 camera got our recommendation for its superior HDR processing. And it also is integrating a ton of AI features into its camera software that will only get more useful. And Andy Rubin’s Essential Phone took a lot of heat for its lackluster camera, but software updates have helped it improve over the past few months.

Newcomer Rylo took a shot at GoPro with its first device that combines an action cam and a 360 camera into a pocket-sized gadget with some serious software at an affordable price. It has some of the best image stabilization I’ve seen. And its intuitive editing software allows you to just shoot everything around you to make shot choices and choreograph smooth camera movements later.

Stretchy Artificial \’Skin\’ Could Give Robots a Sense of Touch

Rubber electronics and sensors that operate normally even when stretched to up to 50 percent of their length could work as the artificial skin on robots, according to a new study. They could also give flexible sensing capabilities to a range of electronic devices, the researchers said. Like human skin, the material is able to sense strain, pressure, and temperature, according to the researchers.

Manufacturing

\”It\’s a piece of rubber, but it has the function of a circuit and sensors,\” said Cunjiang Yu, an assistant professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Houston. Yu and his team described their innovation in a study published online Sept. 8 in the journal Science Advances. [Super-Intelligent Machines: 7 Robotic Futures]

Yu said the rubber electronics and sensors have a wide range of applications. From biomedical implants to wearable electronics to digitized clothing to \”smart\” surgical gloves. Because the rubbery semiconductor starts in a liquid form. it could be poured into molds and scaled up to large sizes. or even used like a kind of rubber-based ink and 3D printed into a variety of different objects.

One of the more interesting applications could be for robots themselves, Yu said. Humans want to be able to work near robots and to coexist with them, he said. But for that to happen safely, the robot itself needs to be able to fully sense its surroundings. And stretchy artificial \”skin\” is also the best invention of 2108.

This is just basic Introduction about 2018 Technologies . I hope you got useful information about technologies.
